Hire a developer for website maintenance and support

Fixes, security updates, speed work and small improvements, handled by a developer who keeps your site running instead of a ticket queue.

  • Bug fixes
  • Security updates
  • Ongoing support

Hiring model that usually fits

Hourly based

Maintenance is irregular. Paying for the hours used fits better than a fixed monthly retainer for most sites.

Websites decay quietly: plugins fall behind, forms stop sending, pages slow down, and a security update nobody applied becomes the way in. Maintenance is the work that stops that happening.

You get a developer who learns your site once and keeps it, so each fix does not start with someone new finding their way around.

What it covers

  • Bug fixes and broken-form repairs
  • Core, theme and plugin updates, tested before they go live
  • Security fixes and clean-up after an incident
  • Backups you have actually restored from
  • Speed improvements on the pages that matter
  • Small content and layout changes

Developers we staff it with

The stack depends on what you already run and who will maintain it. These are the ones we reach for most.

Worth deciding before you start

None of these need a final answer to get in touch. Each one you can answer saves a round of questions.

  1. Where the site is hosted, and who has access
  2. What is broken right now, and what is just slow
  3. Whether there are backups, and when one was last tested
  4. Who should be told when something changes

Common questions

Can you fix a site someone else built?

Yes. That is most maintenance work. We look first and tell you what state it is in before quoting.

Is there a minimum?

Hourly work starts from $10/hr for a developer and $25/hr for a senior developer. Tell us what needs doing and we estimate the hours first.

Our site was hacked. Can you help?

Yes. We clean it, close the way in, restore from a good backup where possible, and set up updates so it does not happen the same way again.

Need help with website maintenance?

A few lines is enough to start. We reply by email, usually the same working day.
